Cargador de batería de taladro provoca incendio en vivienda y deja a seis personas son hogar

(LPL/WREG) – Una familia se encuentra desplazada después de que un cargador de batería de taladro provocara un incendio en su vivienda en Covington, Tennessee, según el Departamento de Bomberos de Covington.

Los bomberos informaron que llegaron al lugar y trabajaron para extinguir el incendio. Todos los ocupantes evacuaron la vivienda y no se reportaron heridos.

Según el CFD, la investigación preliminar indica que el incendio fue causado por un cargador de batería de taladro que se incendió dentro de la residencia.

Indicaron que se contactó a la Cruz Roja Americana, la cual está ayudando a la familia con sus necesidades inmediatas tras el incendio.

A family has been displaced after a drill battery charger sparked a fire in their home in Covington, Tennessee, according to the Covington Fire Department.

Firefighters reported that they arrived on the scene and worked to extinguish the blaze. All occupants evacuated the home, and no injuries were reported.

According to the CFD, the preliminary investigation indicates that the fire was caused by a drill battery charger that caught fire inside the residence.

They stated that the American Red Cross was contacted and is assisting the family with their immediate needs following the fire.

The Covington Fire Department thanked the Brighton Fire Department, the Garland Fire Department, Tipton County Ambulance Service, Southwest Electric, the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Tipton County Dispatch for their assistance and coordination during this fire.

The CFD reminded residents to exercise caution when charging battery-powered tools and devices. Chargers should always be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions, placed on non-combustible surfaces, and never left unattended while charging.
