Carreras callejeras en West Memphis tomaron la vida de una mujer luego que un carro volcara y la atropellara

(LPL) – Las carreras callejeras en West Memphis cobraron la vida de una mujer la noche del jueves, luego de que uno de los dos autos que competían a alta velocidad perdiera el control, volcara y la atropellara, informó el alcalde Marco McClendon.

El accidente ocurrió en la intersección de Martin Luther King Jr. Drive y East Broadway Avenue. Cuando FOX13 llegó minutos antes de la medianoche, prendas de ropa y un cochecito de bebé estaban esparcidos sobre la carretera. La escena fue despejada alrededor de las 4:30 a.m.

Agentes de la Policía de West Memphis, la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Crittenden y unidades no identificadas respondieron al llamado. El alcalde señaló que ambas agencias persiguieron a los conductores involucrados.

Los dos sospechosos fueron detenidos y enfrentan cargos de asesinato en primer grado y fuga, luego de que su participación en carreras ilegales terminara en la muerte de la víctima.

(LPL) – Street racing in West Memphis claimed the life of a woman Thursday night after one of the two cars involved lost control, flipped, and struck her, according to Mayor Marco McClendon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and East Broadway Avenue. When FOX13 arrived just before midnight, clothing and a stroller were scattered across the roadway. The scene was cleared around 4:30 a.m.

Officers from the West Memphis Police Department, the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Office, and unmarked units responded. The mayor said both agencies pursued the drivers involved.

The two suspects were taken into custody and are facing charges of first-degree murder and fleeing, after their illegal street racing resulted in the victim’s death.
