(LPL) – Un exagente del condado de Shelby perdió su certificación como oficial en Tennessee después de admitir que tuvo actividad sexual dentro de una sala de audiencias mientras estaba de servicio.

El Departamento de Comercio y Seguros de Tennessee votó por unanimidad para descertificar a Louis Hamlet.

Según un detective de la Oficina del Sheriff, Hamlet confesó que en varias ocasiones tuvo encuentros sexuales consensuados con una empleada de la corte dentro de la sala. Durante una audiencia en Nashville, reconoció que estaba en uniforme y trabajando cuando ocurrió, y aclaró: “Yo no realicé el acto; ella me realizó sexo oral”.

Aunque la sala estaba vacía en esos momentos, el edificio de la corte seguía abierto al público.

Hamlet ya no trabaja para la Oficina del Sheriff. Dijo tener un caso civil pendiente y pidió que se retrasara cualquier decisión sobre su situación.

La SCSO informó que el caso fue investigado, pero no hubo cargos porque el encuentro fue considerado consensuado.

 Shelby County official suspended for sexual encounter in court while on duty

(LPL) – A former Shelby County deputy lost his certification as a law enforcement officer in Tennessee after admitting he engaged in sexual activity inside a courtroom while on duty.

The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance voted unanimously to decertify Louis Hamlet.

According to a detective with the Sheriff’s Office, Hamlet confessed that he had several consensual sexual encounters with a court clerk inside the courtroom. During a hearing in Nashville, he acknowledged that he was in uniform and working at the time, clarifying: “I didn’t perform the act; she performed oral sex on me.”

Although the courtroom was empty during the encounters, the county courthouse building remained open to the public.

Hamlet is no longer employed by the Sheriff’s Office. He said he has a pending civil case and requested that any decision regarding his situation be delayed.

The SCSO reported that the case was investigated, but no charges were filed because the encounter was considered consensual.
