Conductora del autobus donde murió la niña autista de 6 años dijo que no revisó la unidad porque “estaba haciendo mucho calor”

(LPL) – La conductora de la guardería Kid University, Tametria Norry, dijo a los investigadores que no revisó el autobús después de regresar al centro el día en que murió Winter Jones, de 6 años, porque hacía demasiado calor.

Norry es una de las tres trabajadoras de Kid University acusadas en relación con la muerte de la niña, quien fue encontrada sin vida dentro de un vehículo de la guardería después de permanecer allí durante varias horas.

Según los documentos de la investigación, Norry regresó a la guardería después de transportar a los niños, pero no realizó la inspección del autobús para comprobar que todos hubieran bajado. Winter permaneció dentro del vehículo sin que el personal se percatara de su ausencia.

La investigación señala además que las otras dos empleadas acusadas tampoco realizaron la revisión requerida del autobús. A pesar de ello, los registros indicaban que la inspección había sido completada.

Winter debía ser trasladada desde Kid University hasta Macon-Hall Elementary, pero nunca llegó a la escuela. La niña fue encontrada posteriormente inconsciente dentro del vehículo y declarada muerta.

Norry enfrenta cargos de homicidio por negligencia criminal, negligencia infantil agravada y destrucción o alteración de registros gubernamentales. Un juez redujo recientemente su fianza, permitiendo que saliera de la cárcel.

Las otras dos trabajadoras acusadas, Sabrina Powe y Amilya Hardin, también fueron liberadas bajo fianza. De esta manera, las tres acusadas en el caso se encuentran actualmente fuera de la cárcel mientras el proceso judicial continúa.

Las tres mujeres se han declarado no culpables de los cargos.

Los abogados de la familia de Winter han señalado que la muerte de la niña pudo haberse evitado y que sus padres habían confiado su cuidado a la guardería.

La próxima audiencia del caso está programada para el 30 de octubre.

(LPL) – Tametria Norry, a driver for the Kid University daycare, told investigators she did not check the bus after returning to the center on the day 6-year-old Winter Jones died because it was too hot.

Norry is one of three Kid University employees charged in connection with the death of the girl, who was found unresponsive inside a daycare vehicle after remaining there for several hours.

According to investigative documents, Norry returned to the daycare after transporting the children but failed to inspect the bus to ensure everyone had disembarked. Winter remained inside the vehicle without staff noticing her absence.

The investigation further indicates that the other two charged employees also failed to perform the required bus check. Despite this, records indicated that the inspection had been completed.

Winter was supposed to be transported from Kid University to Macon-Hall Elementary but never arrived at the school. The girl was later found unconscious inside the vehicle and pronounced dead.

Norry faces charges of criminally negligent homicide, aggravated child neglect, and tampering with government records. A judge recently reduced her bail, allowing her to be released from jail.

The other two charged workers, Sabrina Powe and Amilya Hardin, were also released on bail. Consequently, all three defendants in the case are currently out of jail while the legal proceedings continue.

All three women have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Attorneys for Winter’s family have stated that the girl’s death was preventable and that her parents had entrusted her care to the daycare.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for October 30.
