Identifican a las víctimas del tiroteo en festival de Seattle; un hispano murió intentando proteger a su familia

(LPL) – Las autoridades dieron a conocer la identidad de las tres personas que murieron durante el tiroteo ocurrido el domingo en el festival Bite of Seattle, en el Seattle Center. Entre las víctimas se encuentra un padre hispano que, según sus familiares, perdió la vida mientras intentaba proteger a su esposa e hijos.

La víctima hispana fue identificada como Carlos Israel Sánchez Villalba, de 44 años y originario de México. De acuerdo con su familia, asistía al festival junto a su esposa, sus cuatro hijos y otros familiares cuando comenzaron los disparos. En medio del caos, Carlos se interpuso para proteger a sus seres queridos y recibió un disparo que le causó la muerte.

Las otras dos víctimas fatales fueron Ashley Whitehead, de 56 años, y Junior Cee Niko Semo, de 19 años. Según la investigación, Semo también estaba involucrado en el intercambio de disparos que desató el tiroteo y murió en la escena.

(LPL) – Authorities have released the identities of the three people who died during the shooting that took place on Sunday at the Bite of Seattle festival at the Seattle Center. Among the victims is a Hispanic father who, according to relatives, lost his life while trying to protect his wife and children.

The Hispanic victim was identified as Carlos Israel Sánchez Villalba, 44, a native of Mexico. According to his family, he was attending the festival with his wife, his four children, and other relatives when the shooting began. Amidst the chaos, Carlos stepped in to shield his loved ones and was fatally shot.

The other two fatalities were Ashley Whitehead, 56, and Junior Cee Niko Semo, 19. According to the investigation, Semo was also involved in the exchange of gunfire that sparked the shooting and died at the scene.

In addition to the three fatalities, several people were injured, including a two-year-old child. Authorities reported that most of the injured are in stable condition.

Seattle police reported that a 15-year-old was arrested shortly after the attack and remains in custody at a juvenile detention center. The minor faces preliminary charges of first-degree assault and firearm-related offenses as the investigation continues. Detectives believe at least two other people participated in the exchange of gunfire and are working to identify them.
