Menor de 17 años acusado en tiroteo en McDonald’s de East Memphis; víctima permanece grave

(LPL) – Un menor de 17 años fue arrestado y acusado en relación con un tiroteo ocurrido la tarde del lunes en un restaurante McDonald’s del este de Memphis, donde un hombre resultó gravemente herido y permanece en estado crítico, informaron las autoridades.

De acuerdo con el Memphis Police Department, el incidente se registró poco después de las 4:00 p.m. en el área de Quince Road y Perkins Road. Al llegar al lugar, los agentes encontraron a un hombre con una herida de bala dentro del restaurante de comida rápida. La víctima fue trasladada de emergencia al hospital Regional One Health, donde permanece en condición crítica.

La policía indicó que el sospechoso huyó de la escena tras el tiroteo, pero fue localizado poco después en la zona de Colonial Road, cerca de la escuela Colonial Middle School. Se trata de un adolescente de 17 años, cuya identidad no fue revelada por ser menor de edad.

El joven enfrenta cargos por asalto agravado y posesión ilegal de un arma de fuego. Las autoridades también informaron que una mujer fue detenida brevemente durante la investigación, aunque posteriormente fue liberada sin cargos.

Teen charged in East Memphis McDonald’s shooting; victim in critical condition

(LPL) – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting Monday afternoon at a McDonald’s in East Memphis that left a man seriously injured and in critical condition, authorities said.

According to the Memphis Police Department, the shooting occurred shortly after 4 p.m. near Quince Road and Perkins Road. When officers arrived at the fast-food restaurant, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Regional One Health, where he remains in critical condition.

Police said the suspect fled the scene but was later located on Colonial Road near Colonial Middle School. The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male, whose name has not been released because he is a minor.

The teenager has been charged with aggravated assault and illegal possession of a handgun. Investigators said a woman was briefly detained during the investigation but was later released without charges.

At the scene, the victim told officers he did not know who shot him and had limited recollection of the incident. Authorities have not released additional details about a possible motive or any connection between the suspect and the victim.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
