Mujer se entrega a la policía tras presuntamente apuñalar mortalmente a su madre en Memphis

(LPL) – Una mujer se entregó a la Policía de Memphis después de presuntamente apuñalar hasta la muerte a su propia madre durante un incidente ocurrido la noche del martes en el norte de la ciudad.

El Departamento de Policía de Memphis informó que los agentes acudieron alrededor de las 11 p.m. a una vivienda ubicada en la cuadra 600 de Bethel Avenue, tras recibir un reporte de disturbios.

Al llegar, encontraron a una mujer identificada como Jannie Green con múltiples heridas de arma blanca. Los bomberos de Memphis intentaron reanimarla, pero fue declarada muerta en el lugar.

Mientras los agentes todavía investigaban la escena, una mujer identificada como Tiffany Green Barber llegó por cuenta propia a una estación del MPD en North Main Street.

Según los investigadores, Barber llevaba sangre en la ropa y les dijo que había apuñalado a una persona en una vivienda de Bethel Avenue. Posteriormente, habría identificado a la víctima como su madre.

La mujer también habría informado a los detectives que después del ataque abandonó la vivienda y dejó el arma utilizada en un callejón cercano. Los agentes acudieron al lugar indicado y encontraron el arma.

Barber fue detenida y enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer grado y manipulación de evidencia. Las autoridades no han revelado qué provocó el enfrentamiento entre madre e hija.

Woman turns herself in to police after allegedly fatally stabbing her mother in Memphis

(LPL) – A woman turned herself in to the Memphis Police Department after allegedly stabbing her own mother to death during an incident on Tuesday night in the northern part of the city.

The Memphis Police Department reported that officers responded to a home in the 600 block of Bethel Avenue around 11 p.m. following a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, they found a woman identified as Jannie Green suffering from multiple stab wounds. Memphis Fire Department personnel attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

While officers were still investigating the scene, a woman identified as Tiffany Green Barber arrived on her own at an MPD precinct on North Main Street.

According to investigators, Barber had blood on her clothing and told officers she had stabbed someone at a home on Bethel Avenue. She reportedly identified the victim as her mother.

The woman also told detectives that after the attack, she left the home and discarded the weapon in a nearby alley. Officers went to the location she described and recovered the weapon.

Barber was taken into custody and faces charges of first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Authorities have not disclosed what triggered the confrontation between mother and daughter.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the homicide.
