Operativo policial en Memphis deja 246 arrestos y el decomiso de 60 armas ilegales

(LPL) – La Policía de Memphis informó los resultados de “Operation Pressure Point”, un operativo realizado durante todo el mes de junio con el objetivo de combatir la delincuencia violenta, sacar armas ilegales de las calles y desmantelar redes de tráfico de drogas en distintos sectores de la ciudad.

Como resultado del operativo, las autoridades realizaron 246 arrestos, de los cuales 208 corresponden a delitos graves (felonies). Además, los agentes recuperaron 60 armas de fuego ilegales y confiscaron importantes cantidades de drogas, entre ellas fentanilo, marihuana y más de 15,000 pastillas de distintas sustancias ilícitas. También fueron incautados más de 51,000 dólares en efectivo, presuntamente vinculados a actividades criminales.

La operación fue encabezada por la Unidad contra el Crimen Organizado y la Unidad Multiagencias contra Pandillas del Departamento de Policía de Memphis, con el apoyo de otras agencias de seguridad. Según las autoridades, el esfuerzo se enfocó en identificar a delincuentes violentos, retirar armas ilegales de circulación y reducir la presencia de drogas peligrosas en las comunidades.

La Policía señaló que, durante el período en que se desarrolló Operation Pressure Point, también se registró una disminución en el número de tiroteos en la ciudad, aunque no precisó cuántos incidentes menos ocurrieron en comparación con meses anteriores.

Las autoridades aseguraron que continuarán realizando este tipo de operativos como parte de su estrategia para combatir el crimen violento y mejorar la seguridad en los vecindarios de Memphis.

Memphis police operation results in 246 arrests and seizure of 60 illegal weapons

(LPL/EN) – The Memphis Police Department announced the results of “Operation Pressure Point,” an initiative carried out throughout June aimed at combating violent crime, removing illegal weapons from the streets, and dismantling drug trafficking networks in various parts of the city.

As a result of the operation, authorities made 246 arrests, 208 of which were for felonies. Additionally, officers recovered 60 illegal firearms and seized significant quantities of drugs, including fentanyl, marijuana, and more than 15,000 pills containing various illicit substances. More than $51,000 in cash, allegedly linked to criminal activity, was also seized.

The operation was led by the Memphis Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit and the Multi-Agency Gang Unit, with support from other law enforcement agencies. According to authorities, the effort focused on identifying violent offenders, taking illegal weapons out of circulation, and reducing the presence of dangerous drugs in the community.

Police noted that during the course of Operation Pressure Point, there was also a decrease in the number of shootings in the city, although they did not specify exactly how many fewer incidents occurred compared to previous months.

Authorities stated that they will continue to conduct such operations as part of their strategy to combat violent crime and improve safety in Memphis neighborhoods.
