Robos vinculados a un Chrysler robado dejan dos capturados y un fugitivo

(LPL) – Dos hombres fueron detenidos y un tercero continúa prófugo después de una serie de robos y una persecución policial ocurrida la madrugada del lunes en Memphis, todos vinculados a un Chrysler 300 que había sido robado el día anterior, según informó el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD).

El caso comenzó cuando un hombre retiró dinero de un cajero automático. Según la víctima, los sospechosos que viajaban en un Chrysler 300 oscuro lo siguieron hasta el estacionamiento del Gold Club, en North White Station Road. Allí, dos hombres armados lo obligaron a tirarse al suelo y le robaron dinero en efectivo. También revisaron su vehículo sin llevarse más pertenencias. Tras el robo, la víctima condujo hasta su trabajo en FedEx y llamó a la policía.

Mientras los agentes investigaban, se emitió una alerta por el Chrysler 300, que se creía había sido robado la mañana del domingo en el estacionamiento del motel Sleep Inn, en Perkins Road. En ese caso, el dueño había dejado su Chrysler 2013 calentándose cerca de las 5:20 a.m. Cuando volvió, el vehículo ya no estaba y la ventana aparecía rota. Cámaras de un restaurante cercano mostraron a dos hombres llegando en un Nissan blanco, rompiendo la ventana y llevándose el carro.

Horas después, ya el lunes cerca de las 4:50 a.m., oficiales vieron el Chrysler cerca de Central Avenue y Glenn Rogers Sr. Street. Al intentar detenerlo, se inició una persecución que finalizó en Wells Station Road, cerca de Verbena Drive. Tres personas bajaron del vehículo y huyeron a pie; dos fueron capturadas y una logró escapar.

Mientras esto ocurría, otros agentes respondían a un robo similar en Tequila Town, también relacionado con el mismo vehículo. En el caso del Gold Club, reportado alrededor de la 1 a.m., la víctima dijo que los sospechosos le quitaron 70 dólares y le aseguraron que lo habían visto sacando dinero del banco, exigiéndole entregar todo su efectivo bajo amenaza de muerte.

The case began when a man withdrew money from an ATM. According to the victim, the suspects driving a dark Chrysler 300 followed him to the parking lot of the Gold Club on North White Station Road. There, two armed men forced him to the ground and stole his cash. They also searched his vehicle but did not take anything else. After the robbery, the victim drove to his job at FedEx and called police.

As officers investigated, they issued an alert for the Chrysler 300, which was believed to have been stolen Sunday morning from the Sleep Inn parking lot on Perkins Road. In that case, the owner had left his 2013 Chrysler warming up around 5:20 a.m. When he returned, the vehicle was gone and a window was found shattered. Surveillance footage from a nearby restaurant showed two men arriving in a white Nissan, breaking the window, and driving away with the car.

Hours later, around 4:50 a.m. Monday, officers spotted the Chrysler near Central Avenue and Glenn Rogers Sr. Street. When they attempted to stop it, a chase began and ended on Wells Station Road near Verbena Drive. Three people got out of the vehicle and ran; two were captured, and one escaped.

At the same time, other officers responded to a similar robbery at Tequila Town, also connected to the same vehicle. In the Gold Club incident — reported around 1 a.m. — the victim said the suspects stole $70 from him and told him they had seen him withdrawing money at the bank, demanding he hand over all his cash under threat of death.
