Seis muertos tras nuevo ataque de EE UU contra una narcolancha en el Caribe

(LPL/CNN) -El secretario de Guerra de Estados Unidos, Pete Hegseth, anunció que durante la noche del jueves 23 de octubre, bajo las órdenes del presidente Donald Trump, se llevó a cabo otro ataque cinético letal contra una narcolancha en el Caribe que, según la inteligencia estadounidense, era operada por el grupo criminal Tren de Aragua.
La embarcación, según el parte oficial, transportaba narcóticos por una ruta conocida del Caribe. Durante la operación murieron seis hombres identificados como narcoterroristas, sin que se registraran bajas entre las fuerzas estadounidenses.
“Si eres un narco-terrorista que trafica drogas en nuestro hemisferio, te trataremos como tratamos a Al Qaeda. De día o de noche, mapearemos tus redes, rastrearemos a tu gente, te cazaremos y te mataremos”, afirmó Hegseth en su comunicado.
Hegseth precisó que se trató del primer ataque nocturno contra una narcolancha en el Caribe dentro de la campaña militar impulsada por la administración Trump, que busca neutralizar a organizaciones criminales designadas como terroristas transnacionales.

La acción se suma a una serie de operativos marítimos en el Caribe y el Pacífico, donde Washington afirma haber hundido nueve embarcaciones y provocado la muerte de al menos 37 personas vinculadas a redes de narcotráfico.

El ataque de este jueves eleva a 10 los objetivos destruidos en las últimas semanas por las fuerzas estadounidenses.
Desde agosto, la administración Trump ha intensificado su ofensiva militar en el Caribe, desplegando destructores, submarinos y fuerzas especiales bajo el argumento de combatir el narcotráfico.

El mandatario estadounidense ha calificado al Tren de Aragua como una organización terrorista designada y ha señalado directamente a los gobiernos de Venezuela y Colombia como cómplices del tráfico internacional de drogas.
Los gobiernos de Nicolás Maduro y Gustavo Petro han calificado los ataques como asesinatos y violaciones del derecho internacional.

Six dead after new US attack on drug boat in the Caribbean

(LPL/CNN) – US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that during the night of Thursday, October 23, under orders from President Donald Trump, another lethal kinetic attack was carried out against a drug boat in the Caribbean that, according to US intelligence, was operated by the Tren de Aragua criminal group.
The vessel, according to the official report, was transporting narcotics along a known route in the Caribbean. During the operation, six men identified as narco-terrorists were killed, with no casualties reported among US forces.
“If you are a narco-terrorist trafficking drugs in our hemisphere, we will treat you as we treat al-Qaeda. Day or night, we will map your networks, track your people, hunt you down, and kill you,” Hegseth said in his statement.
Hegseth stated that this was the first nighttime attack against a drug boat in the Caribbean as part of the Trump administration’s military campaign, which seeks to neutralize criminal organizations designated as transnational terrorists.

The action follows a series of maritime operations in the Caribbean and the Pacific, where Washington claims to have sunk nine vessels and killed at least 37 people linked to drug trafficking networks.

Thursday’s attack brings to 10 the number of targets destroyed in recent weeks by US forces.
Since August, the Trump administration has intensified its military offensive in the Caribbean, deploying destroyers, submarines, and special forces under the guise of combating drug trafficking.

The US president has designated the Tren de Aragua (Aragua Train) as a designated terrorist organization and has directly pointed the finger at the governments of Venezuela and Colombia as complicit in international drug trafficking.
The governments of Nicolás Maduro and Gustavo Petro have described the attacks as murders and violations of international law.
