Trump vuelve a amenezar a Irán antes del plazo para abrir el estrecho de Ormuz: “Toda una civilización morirá esta noche”

(LPL/CNN) – El presidente Donald Trump lanzó una dura amenaza contra Irán al decir que “toda una civilización morirá esta noche”, mientras se acerca el plazo impuesto por el mandatario estadounidense para que Irán abra el estrecho de Ormuz.

“Toda una civilización morirá esta noche, para no volver jamás. No quiero que eso ocurra, pero probablemente ocurrirá”, escribió Trump en su red social TRUTH.
“Sin embargo, ahora que tenemos un cambio de régimen completo y total, donde prevalecen mentes diferentes, más inteligentes y menos radicalizadas, quizá algo revolucionariamente maravilloso pueda suceder, ¿QUIÉN SABE? Lo sabremos esta noche, uno de los momentos más importantes en la larga y compleja historia del mundo. 47 años de extorsión, corrupción y muerte finalmente terminarán. ¡Que Dios bendiga al gran pueblo de Irán!”, agregó.
Trump había amenazado previamente con destruir las plantas eléctricas de Irán y otra infraestructura civil, al advertir que el país enfrentará graves consecuencias si no abre el estrecho de Ormuz antes de las 8 p.m., hora del Este, de este martes.

Sin embargo, Trump ya ha fijado varios plazos que posteriormente han cambiado.

El presidente y la Casa Blanca han desestimado las preocupaciones de que atacar este tipo de infraestructura podría constituir un crimen de guerra.

“An entire civilization will die tonight, never to return. I do not want that to happen, but it probably will,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, TRUTH.
“However, now that we have a complete and total regime change—where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail—perhaps something revolutionarily wonderful could happen. WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, in one of the most significant moments in the long and complex history of the world. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally come to an end. May God bless the great people of Iran!” he added.
Trump had previously threatened to destroy Iran’s power plants and other civilian infrastructure, warning that the country would face severe consequences if it did not open the Strait of Hormuz by 8 p.m. Eastern Time this Tuesday.

However, Trump has previously set several deadlines that were subsequently altered.

The President and the White House have dismissed concerns that attacking this type of infrastructure could constitute a war crime.

According to experts in international law, deliberate attacks against civilian infrastructure—such as power plants, water systems, or energy facilities—may constitute war crimes if they lack a clear military objective or if the harm inflicted upon the civilian population is disproportionate.
