Tormentas y riesgo de clima severo este miércoles en Memphis; tome sus respectivas precauciones

(LPL) – Memphis y gran parte del Medio-Sur enfrentan este miércoles 11 de marzo un riesgo de clima severo, con pronóstico de tormentas eléctricas, ráfagas de viento fuertes y la posibilidad de granizo o tornados aislados. Autoridades meteorológicas han advertido que las condiciones podrían cambiar rápidamente a lo largo del día.

De acuerdo con los pronósticos, la mañana comenzará mayormente tranquila, aunque algunas lluvias aisladas podrían desarrollarse cerca del mediodía. Sin embargo, la mayor actividad de tormentas se espera durante la tarde y la noche. 

Los meteorólogos señalan que la línea principal de tormentas podría pasar por el área de Memphis aproximadamente entre las 2:00 p.m. y las 9:00 p.m., periodo en el que existe mayor riesgo de vientos dañinos, lluvias intensas y granizo. 

También existe una posibilidad baja de tornados aislados, especialmente si algunas tormentas se fortalecen mientras avanzan por la región. Además, las lluvias intensas podrían causar acumulaciones de agua en algunas calles o carreteras durante el periodo de tormentas. 

Se espera que las tormentas comiencen a salir del área alrededor de las 10:00 p.m., dejando condiciones más tranquilas durante la noche. 

Para el jueves, el sistema frontal traerá un cambio en el clima, con temperaturas más frescas y condiciones más estables. El pronóstico indica cielos mayormente despejados y clima seco durante jueves y viernes, antes de que las temperaturas vuelvan a subir gradualmente hacia el fin de semana.

Las autoridades recomiendan a los residentes mantenerse atentos a las alertas meteorológicas, especialmente durante la tarde y noche, cuando se espera el periodo de mayor impacto del mal tiempo.

Storms and Severe Weather Risk in Memphis Wednesday; Take Precautions

(LPL) – Memphis and much of the Mid-South face a severe weather risk this Wednesday, March 11, with forecasts calling for thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, and the possibility of hail or isolated tornadoes. Weather officials have warned that conditions could change rapidly throughout the day.

According to forecasts, the morning will start mostly calm, although some isolated showers could develop around midday. However, the most intense storm activity is expected during the afternoon and evening.
Meteorologists indicate that the main line of storms could pass through the Memphis area between approximately 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., a period when the risk of damaging winds, heavy rain, and hail is highest. There is also a low chance of isolated tornadoes, especially if some storms strengthen as they move through the region. Additionally, heavy rains could cause water accumulation on some streets or roads during the storm period.
The storms are expected to begin moving out of the area around 10:00 p.m., leaving calmer conditions overnight.
By Thursday, the frontal system will bring a change in the weather, with cooler temperatures and more stable conditions. The forecast indicates mostly clear skies and dry weather for Thursday and Friday, before temperatures gradually rise again toward the weekend.
Authorities recommend that residents remain alert to weather warnings, especially during the afternoon and evening, when the period of greatest impact from the severe weather is expected.
