(LPL) –Una persona murió y otras tres resultaron heridas tras un accidente de dos vehículos ocurrido la tarde del miércoles en el área de Raleigh, en el noreste de Memphis, informó el Departamento de Policía de Memphis (MPD).

Los oficiales respondieron al accidente alrededor de la 1:50 p.m., en la intersección de Stage Road y Bluefield Road, cerca de la Covington Pike. Al llegar al lugar, encontraron a cuatro personas involucradas en el choque.

Una de las víctimas fue declarada muerta en la escena. Una mujer fue trasladada a un hospital en condición crítica, mientras que otros dos hombres fueron llevados a un centro médico con lesiones que no se consideraban potencialmente mortales.

Imágenes tomadas en el lugar mostraron un sedán rojo con graves daños como consecuencia de la colisión.

El accidente provocó importantes afectaciones al tránsito en el área durante la tarde. Las autoridades cerraron temporalmente los carriles en ambas direcciones de Stage Road, mientras los equipos de emergencia atendían a las víctimas y trabajaban para despejar la zona. Los conductores fueron recomendados a utilizar rutas alternas.
