(LPL) – Un hombre resultó herido y se trasladó por sus propios medios al hospital, luego de un tiroteo en la Interestatal 240 el martes por la tarde, informó la Policía de Memphis.

Según las autoridades, a las 2:39 p.m., los oficiales respondieron a un llamado por asalto agravado luego de que se reportara un disparo en la intersección de I-240 y Getwell Road. Minutos después, recibieron otro aviso de disparos en la zona de I-240 Este y Mt. Moriah Road. Poco después, la víctima llamó a la policía para informar que se dirigía al hospital St. Francis en Bartlett tras haber sido rozado por una bala durante el incidente.

La víctima relató que alrededor de las 2:10 p.m. tuvo un accidente en la zona de I-240 Este y Getwell Road con un SUV en el que viajaban dos hombres. Según el afectado, el conductor del SUV, que vestía un chaleco verde, disparó entre cuatro y cinco veces contra él, provocándole únicamente rozaduras en los nudillos. Antes de disparar, la víctima logró obtener un número de teléfono del sospechoso.

La persona herida describió al atacante como un hombre de entre 20 y 25 años, con cabello negro y chaleco verde. La víctima aseguró que no respondió a los disparos y calificó el hecho como un “acto de violencia aleatorio”.

La policía buscó en la zona indicada por la víctima, pero no encontraron casquillos. Se informó que el vehículo de la víctima, un Chevy Impala rojo, presentaba múltiples impactos que parecían ser de bala y fue trasladado al lote de vehículos incautados.

Hasta el momento, la Policía de Memphis no ha confirmado si otros conductores resultaron heridos ni si se han realizado arrestos. Se espera que el hombre lesionado se recupere.

The injured man described the attacker as a man between 20 and 25 years old, with black hair and a green vest. The victim stated that he did not return fire and described the incident as a “random act of violence.”

Police searched the area indicated by the victim but did not find any shell casings. The victim’s vehicle, a red Chevy Impala, reportedly had multiple bullet holes and was towed to the impound lot.

As of now, Memphis Police have not confirmed whether any other drivers were injured or if any arrests have been made. The injured man is expected to recover.
