Otro tiroteo en la I-240 de Memphis deja un conductor herido

(LPL) – La Policía de Memphis investiga un tiroteo ocurrido la noche del lunes en la Interestatal 240 que dejó a un hombre herido en condición no crítica.

Los oficiales respondieron poco después de las 11:30 p.m. a Maple Lawn Drive, cerca de East Shelby Drive, donde localizaron a la víctima dentro de su vehículo con una herida de bala. El hombre informó que fue atacado mientras conducía por I-240, cerca de Norris Road, luego de intentar rebasar un vehículo gris o plateado. Tras la maniobra, el otro automóvil se colocó a la par y desde su interior se realizaron varios disparos. La víctima logró llegar a su casa, llamó al 911 y posteriormente fue trasladada a un hospital, donde se reporta fuera de peligro.

Los investigadores indicaron que no se localizaron casquillos en la autopista y que el caso continúa bajo investigación.

Este tiroteo ocurre una semana después de otro incidente similar registrado también en I-240, cuando un conductor resultó herido de bala tras un altercado con los ocupantes de un SUV cerca de Getwell Road. En ese caso, la víctima se trasladó por sus propios medios al hospital y describió el hecho como un acto de violencia aleatoria. Hasta el momento, la policía no ha confirmado arrestos en ninguno de los dos casos.

Another Shooting Reported on I-240 in Memphis; one injured

(LPL) – Memphis Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Monday night on Interstate 240, leaving a man in non-critical condition.

Officers responded shortly after 11:30 p.m. to Maple Lawn Drive near East Shelby Drive, where they found the victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. The man told police he was shot while driving on I-240 near Norris Road after attempting to pass a silver or gray vehicle. After he passed it, the vehicle pulled alongside him and someone opened fire. The victim managed to drive home, called 911, and was later taken to a hospital, where he is expected to recover.

Investigators said they were unable to locate shell casings on the interstate, and the shooting remains under investigation.

The incident comes just one week after a similar shooting on I-240, when another driver was injured following a confrontation with occupants of an SUV near Getwell Road. In that case, the victim drove himself to the hospital and described the shooting as an act of random violence. No arrests have been confirmed in either case.
